What is your favorite memory from this season?
My favorite memory was when we had a team dinner before state because it was a way to keep everyone loose and not too stressed out about heading to East Peoria.
What do you love about baseball?
What I love about baseball is how it’s completely unpredictable, anything is possible. Comebacks happen all the time, mistakes happen all the time, and still, so many people stick around to play it even if they know there is great chance of failure.
How did you feel when you won the State Championship?
When we won the state title I was completely amazed. I had faith all year that it was possible and we went out and won!
What is the best thing about your team?
The best thing about our team is our chemistry. This year, I believe our team bonded more than last year because we have a lot of people who have played together for many years.Clayton Copeland

Everyone had each other’s backs at every point in the season. And that everyone would support each other no matter what happened.

We always had fun and never really got down. We trusted each other and had confidence.

I love the teamwork. I especially love running bases!

It felt amazing, an awesome way to end my baseball career!

Being chosen to be on the postseason team.
What do you love about baseball?
If you make a mistake while hitting you can make up for it in the field and if you make a mistake in the field you can make up for it while batting.

What is your favorite memory from the season?
My favorite memory is the very first game of state when we where down one run going into the last inning. We needed to score when I got up to bat. There was already one out but a person on first base. I got up to the batters’ box, took a deep breath and said: “We can’t lose, we cant.” The pitcher had a good curveball so I just waited for a fastball. Right when he pitched I saw it was a fastball and I hit the ball right in the gap scoring the tying run, putting me on second base. After I hit the ball I went crazy on second. That was easily my favorite moment.
What do you love about baseball?
I love baseball because it is a team sport and if you don’t have your whole team there trying and never giving up then you will lose.
How did you feel when you won the state title?
Right when Connor got the final out. I just stood there frozen and then all of a sudden I just went crazy, we won the championship. It was crazy because at the beginning of the year no one thought we would make it out of sectionals and we won state.
What is the best thing about your team?
The best thing about our team and why we won state is because our team never gave up. We always kept our teammates up and always pushed through.

What is your favorite memory from the season?
My favorite memory is when we were playing Salt Fork. I stole second base, on the way there I tripped an fell, I got back up and jump on the second baseman to get around him. I was safe because of the obstruction!!

I love everything about it from the way you play it to where it is played.
How did you feel when you won the state title?
I was excited and full of energy!

The best thing about our team is how well we get along and work together!!
Carter Mabery
What is your favorite memory from the season? One of my favorite memories is when one of my teammates Tyler Burch hit a home run in the regional championship game. He was one the people that I least expected hit a home run.
What do you love about baseball? I love baseball because when I get to play, it takes me somewhere else. It’s like if I had a bad day or a good day, my day automatically becomes better. I also love being with my friends and having the competition.
How did you feel when you won the state title? I felt happy. I also felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders. It had been very stressful game even though I didn’t get to play.
What is the best thing about your team? I think the best thing about our team is that we all fight for each other and never give up. We all get along pretty good together.

What is your favorite memory from the season? I enjoyed jumping in the pile with my teammates after we won the state championship.
What do you love about baseball? I love the atmosphere and the game in general.
How did you feel when you won the state title? It was electric, and I felt like I was part of an amazing team.
