Family fun at the Saint Joseph Fire Protection District Thursday
The St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District is planning a night of family fun that includes some fire safety education.
The annual Fire Prevention Open House will take place on Oct. 11 at the fire station located on Warren Street.
The event will include fire safety demonstrations, goodie bags to take home, hot dogs and chips ad a bounce house. The event will also include a booth set up by Metcad that will allow people to practice calling 911.
The district will also be giving away smoke alarms to anyone who comes to the event and cannot afford detectors for their home. The smoke alarms were donated by Dr. Troy Branson.
The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“It’s a family fun night essentially,” said Rusty Shafer with the SJSFPD.
