Senior Cole Zaccarelli thinks St. Joseph-Ogden’s greenhouse is amazing.
That’s why the St. Joseph-Ogden Student-Athlete of the Month chose Horticulture as his favorite class.
“The greenhouse is awesome,” he said.
Zaccarelli was nominated by football coach Shawn Skinner. Not only is Zaccarelli a leader when it comes to academics on the team but he is also a leader when it comes to how a student-athlete at SJO should behave. Skinner said Zaccarelli is the first athlete in the weight room and always cleans up the locker room and the weight room.
“He is a true leader,” Skinner said. “He is accountable, never negative and is always positive in the huddle. He is always working to get better.”
Zaccarelli for his part, thrives under the pressure that comes with being an SJO student-athlete.
He said the best part about being a student-athlete at SJO is “the expectation to be great in everything I do.”
Zaccarelli said he was thrilled to be named student-athlete of the month.
“I am grateful to be recognized as a leader of the football team,” he said.
