Family Holiday Events Around St. Joseph and Homer this Weekend
Santa Clause is coming to town!
Riding on a fire truck, at 10 a.m. on Main Street in St. Joseph, to be exact.
Santa will be available until 1 p.m. inside the Main Street Salon for a visit and a photo opportunity. Caretakers must bring their own camera.
A box will be available for non-perishable items to be donated to the food pantry.
Family Movie Night
The St. Joseph PTC will kick-off a weekend of family fun events with a public showing of The Incredibles 2 in the St. Joseph Grade School Gym beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Families are encouraged to come in the pajamas, and to bring a blanket to sit on. Hot dogs, chips, bottled water, hot cocoa and cookies to decorate will all available for purchase. Caretakers must stay with their child during the event.
Homer for the Holidays
There’s no place like Homer for the holidays!
The Champaign County Forest Preserve invites the community to take a natural approach to creating unique holiday gifts at their annual event, Homer for the Holidays at the Salt Fork Center in the Homer Lake Forest Preserveon December 8 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Stations will be set up for children to make and take home presents and decorations for their families and friends. There will also be an opportunity to create treats to decorate the trees outside as our gift to the wildlife that call Homer Lake home.
This event is open to the public and free.
Christmas Carols
Debra Myers will be at the Geschenk Boutique and Coffee and Tea Haus from 1 to 3 p.m. playing the piano as friends gather for warm drinks and Christmas Carols. Guests can join the fun by singing their favorite carol, participate in the group sing, or just enjoy the wonderful music of the season.
