St. Joseph-Ogden’s girls’ track and field team placed second on Saturday in the 34-team Eastern Illinois University Indoor Invitational.
Meet champion Arthur scored 43 points. SJ-O had 38 points.
Three Spartans placed individually and three of the school’s relays also earned points.
Jillian Plotner took third in the 800 meters (2 minutes, 27.62 seconds).
In the 1,600 meters, SJ-O runners Hannah Rajlich and Cassidy Bagby were third and fourth, respectively. Rajlich was timed in 5:33.63. Bagby finished in 5:37.66.
SJ-O’s 1,600-relay foursome circled the track quicker than any other entries, winning the event by 3.16 seconds. The Spartans’ time was 4:19.37.
SJ-O’s 800 relay foursome took third (1:52.62) and the 3,200 relay placed fourth (10:52.37).
