Heritage/VG improves to 7-1 in conference play

Villa Grove/Heritage baseball improved to 7-1 in conference play with Monday’s 11-0 victory at Tri-County.
The shutout was the Hawks’ fifth of the spring.
Pitchers Keagan Patterson and Evan Wilson teamed up on a one-hitter. Patterson walked two and struck out two in four innings. Wilson retired all three batters he faced in the final inning, striking out one.
VG/Heritage made the most of its three hits. Kane Davison socked a home run and knocked in four runs.
Nick Coffin had two hits, including a double.
The Hawks took advantage of six walks and three hit batsmen.
VG/Heritage (15-7) is scheduled to return to action on Friday at Oblong.
Softball
The Hawks (8-13) picked up a forfeit win on Monday from Tri-County before being shut out at home, 11-0, by Villa Grove on Wednesday.
