Resurfacing of I-74 near St. Joseph set June 3
ST. JOSEPH — The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that resurfacing of Interstate 74 from about 2 miles east of St. Joseph to Illinois 49 will begin Monday, June 3.
The project involves removal of old pavement and putting down a fresh layer and will require lane closures in both directions. Work is expected to be complete by mid-December Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment
