All districts in Illinois are required to administer a climate and culture survey annually. The 5 Essentials Survey provides school districts with detailed data on school culture and climate by inquiring into five critical areas for school improvement. The Illinois 5 Essentials Reports draw from the 2018-19 5 Essentials Organizing Schools for Improvement Survey administered December 2018 – March 2019.

Parent responses to the survey are not publicly distributed, but school districts receive the feedback.

Oakwood Grade School

Based on Illinois’ 5 Essentials Surveys filled out by teachers and parents, Oakwood Grade School is organized for improvement. 92.1-percent of students at Oakwood Grade School took the survey whereas 85.7-percent of students this age statewide did. 79.5-percent of teachers took it in comparison to 80-percent of teachers at these grade levels statewide. And 19.7-percent of parents took the survey whereas 20.1-percent took it statewide.
