Behrens and Page receive team Player of the Game honors, Volleyball splits two to start season

The Spartans were held scoreless in their first two soccer matches of the season.
SJ-O salvaged a 0-0 tie in a road match on Monday against Oakwood/Salt Fork. Goalkeeper Mason Behrens, who earned team Player of the Game recognition, had seven saves.
On Tuesday, the Spartans were blanked by Hoopeston Area, 3-0.
SJ-O returns to action today in its home-opener, against Urbana Uni High.
Freshmen Will Page was got recognized by his coaches as Player of the Game for playing a full game without a defensive breakdown and supporting his teammates.
Volleyball
The Spartans dropped their season-opening match on Tuesday at home to Decatur St. Teresa, 23-25, 25-15, 25-21.
Kennedi Burnett landed 11 kills to go with two service aces for SJ-O. Teammate Katelyn Berry contributed 10 digs.
On Wednesday, SJ-O (1-1) overpowered Georgetown-Ridge Farm 25-8,25-2.
Emily Bigger had 18 assists.
