Oakwood Volleyball upends Blue Devils, Hoshauer leads Comets

Oakwood’s volleyball team rallied from a one-set deficit at home on Tuesday against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin and upended the Blue Devils in a Vermilion Valley Conference showdown 13-25, 25-17, 25-23.
Katelyn Young provided the Comets a spark with 10 assists, eight kills and three blocks.
Aaliyah Denius and Alyssa Romito added five kills apiece. Denius and Madison Doan each served two aces.
Karsen Rupp chipped in with eight assists, raising her team-leading total to 133. Young leads the Comets in kills (138) and blocks (25) while Denius leads in aces (13).
Oakwood (9-9 overall) returns to action tonight at home against Salt Fork.
The Comets are 4-0 in Vermilion Valley Conference play.
Oakwood Golf
Logen Hoshauer shared medalist honors on Monday in a three-school meet at Danville’s Harrison Park.
He carded a 40.
Oakwood (202 team score) finished behind Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin (170), but ahead of Westville (227) in the team race.
The Comets return to action today at Harrison Park against Salt Fork.

The Comets (4-9-1) lost a 3-1 decision on Tuesday on the road against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.
