Hawks record-setting Volleyball season comes to an end

Heritage Volleyball
The Hawks’ school-record season ended on Wednesday with a regional semifinal loss to Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at Cerro Gordo High School.
Windsor posted a 25-12, 25-22 decision.
Bri Struck led Heritage with six kills. Bree Buck added three kills.
Olivia Sorensen ended with a team-high 11 assists. Malani Smithenry led the Hawks with two blocks and Anna Sanders contributed seven digs. Struck totaled five digs.
The team’s final 27-6 record broke the school mark for wins in a season.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg faces Central A&M in tonight’s 6 p.m. regional championship match.
Villa Grove Volleyball
The Blue Devils dropped their regular-season finale on Thursday, 25-16, 25-22 to Tri-County (21-8). Reagan Cheely handed out 10 assists for VG.
Villa Grove went 1-1 in its postseason matches at Kansas.
On Monday, the Blue Devils topped Arcola (7-19) for the second time this season, 25-21, 25-15. Cheely dealt out 13 assists.
Madison Burwell swatted a team-high nine kills. Kyleigh Block had six kills and Molly Mixell had four kills.
On Tuesday, VG (12-14) lost in the semifinals to Okaw Valley (23-10) 25-19, 25-19.
