Santa comes to Oakwood
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the First Farmer’s Bank from 10 a.m. to noon and at the Oakwood Public Library from from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 7.
The Oakwood Public Library will also have games crafts and games.
Christmas Decorating Contest
The Village of Oakwood is hosting their second annual Christmas Lighting Contest in 2019.
Residents are encouraged to decorate the outside of their home and turn in their registration form to Village Hall by Dec. 12. Judging will be completed by Dec. 15.
The winner will receive a plaque and a $25 gift certificate to Obie’s Artic Chill.
Little Country Tour Shop Hop
It’s a Christmas Event for everyone! December 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ms. Becky’s, The Crow’s Nest, Kickapoo Pottery, Country Chics, St. Joseph, Illinois, Geschenk Boutique and Coffee and Tea Haus, Ludwig Farmstead Creamery will be decorated with Christmas items and gifts for you to do your Christmas Shopping. Pick up a card at your first shop to have it stamped at each shop so you can register for our grand prize valued at $300.
Kid Holiday Bingo
Join the Oakwood Public Library for Kids’ Holiday Bingo on Dec. 12 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
It's a Wonderful Life
Join Sleepy Creek Vineyards for a holiday play presented by Dark Horse Theatre Co. of Vermilion County. This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940’s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. Get your tickets early! Limited seats available.

Wine can be purchased by the bottle or glass. They have Wine Slushies, Sangria, beers, and other non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase. Seating is first come/first served. No reserved seating available. Tickets are also available by calling Sleepy Creek Vineyards at 217-733-0330.
Christmas Yoga and Wine
Join Sleepy Creek Vineyards for Christmas Yoga with Mandy Mourer! Wear your holiday gear for a fun filled evening. Bring a friend, do some yoga, have some wine to escape from the holiday hustle & bustle and be ready for some holly jolly fun and relaxation. Come mingle and enjoy the holiday spirit by sipping on your fave Sleepy Creek drink. This yoga class will held in the Dragonfly. Gravel parking behind the venue. Bring some friends for a fun Christmas time!

Pop in to Oakwood United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 8 between 5:00-6:30 for yummy cookies and Christmas carols. They’ll do the baking and clean up – just come as you are! Come for a few minutes or an hour to join us for an informal gathering to listen, sing, snack, and be surrounded by community. All ages welcome!
