Chance Izard scored 14 points and Payton Cain added nine on Tuesday, but the Spartans dropped a 51-42 decision to visiting Paxton-Buckley-Loda.

SJ-O held a 16-13 first-half lead before the Panthers (13-2) gained control.

The Spartans (10-5) return to action on Friday at Teutopolis, weather permitting.
