Prairieview-Ogden notifies district about remote learning
Prairieview-Ogden is working on plans to help students with remote learning opportunities while is school is closed due to COVID-19.
“This is not to add stress during these already stressful times,” Superintendent Vic White wrote, this is to help create a routine of learning for all the students in the district. Currently, schools are closed through April 7, this date is subject to change since these are unprecedented times.”
While some teachers at Prairieview-Ogden have already reached out to families, White’s letter said that all students will hear from their teachers soon in order to provide them with remote learning instruction.
If a family does not have the ability to do remote learning, the district will provide a paper version if the parents/guardians reach out to the student’s teacher to arrange a pick-up time.
“We ask that you do not come to the schools unless otherwise arranged for special purposes,” White wrote. “The offices will be open daily from 8:00 to 12:00 noon to assist so please call us.”
Tentatively, teachers and students will work on math and reading on Mondays and Wednesdays, English Language Arts and Reading on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Social Studies and/or Science and Reading on Fridays.
“Reading is listed every day,” White wrote. “It could be what is suggested by the teachers, but it could also be as simple as reading a cartoon, short story or a news article.”
Parents and guardians should look for a link provided by Prarieview-Ogden on March 24 to access all of the resources available through the district.
“The most important things to remember with remote learning right now is to have continuity, structure, and support,” White said.
