St. Joseph-Ogden High School Senior Spotlights: Ashley Abbott, Dade Allinger, Kolton Batty
Ashley Abbott
FFA, Art Club, Landscape Design
Ashley lives in St. Joseph with her dad and stepmother. Ashley has three brothers and one sister. Her hobbies include playing video games, attending Art Club, and gardening. Ashley currently misses her daily high school schedule, but she is making the most of her time at home. After high school, Ashley plans on attending Parkland College. When finished at Parkland, she plans to transfer to a university. Ashley is going to major in landscape design. Her favorite classes at SJO include Horticulture, Biology, and Art. This school year, Ashley really enjoyed all aspects of FFA. She enjoys learning about all aspects of agriculture. Her favorite teachers at SJO are Mrs. Brooks, Mrs. Nekolny, Mrs. Kerner, Mrs. Krisman, and Mr. Beckett. Congrats to Ashley on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.
Dade Allinger
Boys’ Basketball (4 years), Youth Wrestling, Spanish Club, Chess Club
Dade lives in St. Joseph with his mom and dad. He has three brothers and one sister. His hobbies include spending time with friends and family. In his first year at SJO, Dade has made many great memories. He is thankful for meeting new people and new friends at SJO, and he has enjoyed how welcoming SJO has been to him. As a varsity boys’ basketball player this past winter, Dade really enjoyed the electric environment of the Class 2A IHSA regional championship game hosted by SJO in late February. After high school, Dade plans on attending Parkland College. He is going to major in physical therapy. He is planning on attending the University of Illinois after he finishes at Parkland College. His advice for future SJO students is to stay ahead on homework and to not be afraid to ask questions. His favorite classes at SJO are Economics with Mr. Schacht and Business Management with Mr. Skinner. His favorite teachers in his high school career include Mr. Schacht at SJO and Mr. Andracke, who was his Woods teacher at Mahomet-Seymour High School. Dade’s home town is Mahomet, Illinois. His family moved to St. Joseph before the school year started. Congrats to Dade on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
Kolton Batty
Soccer (4 years), Maroon Platoon
Kolton lives in St. Joseph with his mom, dad, and two brothers, Dylan and Titus. His main hobby is hanging out with friends. His greatest memory at SJO was when his JV soccer team went undefeated during his freshman year. After high school, Kolton plans to attend Parkland College. He is going to major in aviation. His advice for future SJO students is to enjoy the small things and to live every moment like it is your last. His favorite class at SJO was Physical Science during his freshman year with Mr. Glazier. His favorite all-time teachers are Mr. Glazier and Mrs. Franzen. Congrats to Kolton on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
