St. Joseph-Ogden High School Senior Spotlights: Lindsey Aden, Joey Acton and Jenna Albrecht
Lindsey Aden
Volleyball (4 years), Basketball (1 year), Track & Field (1 year), Softball (3 years), FFA, Student Council, Spanish Club, We the People, Advisory Mentoring Program, National Honor Society
Lindsey lives outside of Royal with her mom, dad, and older brother, Jared. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, and going to concerts. Lindsey’s greatest memories at SJO include winning the IHSA Volleyball Super-Sectional on the road at Palos Heights. During this game against Chicago Christian, Lindsey and the Spartans lost the first set, but then roared back to win the next two sets, which advanced the Spartans to the IHSA State tournament. In the IHSA State Volleyball Tournament at Redbird Arena, SJO earned a 3rd place state trophy, which is a moment Lindsey will never forget. After high school, Lindsey will be attending the University of Georgia and is double majoring in agri-business and political science. She is also going to minor in Spanish. Lindsey’s advice for future SJO students is to enjoy every day. Her favorite classes at SJO were Advanced Civics with Mr. Schacht and American History with Mr. Schacht. Lindsey’s favorite teachers are Mr. Simondsen and Mr. Schacht at SJO, and Mrs. Anderson at PVO. Congrats to Lindsey on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.
Joey Acton
Baseball (4 years), Golf (3 years), Football (1 year), Spanish Club, & Maroon Platoon
Joey lives in St. Joseph with his mom, dad, and younger sister, Alyssa. His hobbies include playing wiffle ball, video games, and he simply likes to be outdoors. His greatest memories of SJO have been on the baseball diamond each spring. Joey has really enjoyed all of the great moments with the baseball team all four years of high school. He simply thinks the mixture of spring and baseball is as good as it gets. After high school, Joey plans to attend Illinois State University and wants to major in business. His advice for future SJO students is to always stay ahead on homework and to stay focused. His favorite class at SJO was trig with Mr. Duval during his junior year. Joey’s favorite teachers over the years have been Mr. Sutton at SJO and Mrs. Mabry during both 3rd grade and 6th grade at St. Joseph Grade School and St. Joseph Middle School. Congrats to Joey on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
Jenna Albrecht

Jenna lives in St. Joseph with her mom and dad. She has an older brother, Ben, a younger brother, Sam, and a younger sister, Sophie. Her hobbies include watching Netflix, reading, spending time with family and friends, and listening to music. Jenna has many great memories of high school at SJO, like attending her 1st homecoming as a freshmen and when the SJO varsity volleyball team earned a 3rd place IHSA State trophy in the fall of 2019. After high school, Jenna plans on attending Parkland College and then plans on transferring to the University of Chicago-Urbana Satellite Campus Nursing Program. Her advice for future SJO students is to get involved because time goes by so fast, and do not take anything for granted. Jenna’s favorite classes at SJO have been physics with Mr. Glazier and English with Mrs. Lindenmeyer. Her favorite teachers throughout the years have been Mrs. Kinney at St. Joseph Middle School, Mr. Glazier, Mrs. Lindenmeyer, and Mrs. Franzen at St. Joseph-Ogden High School.
