St. Joseph-Ogden Senior Spotlight: Kenly Taylor, Jordan Kelly, Stephanie Trame and Brayden Weaver
Kenly Taylor
Volleyball (4 years), Student Council, NHS, Spanish Club, Maroon Platoon, SADA, FCA
Kenly lives in Ogden with her mom and dad. She has 3 siblings: one older brother, one older sister, and one younger brother. Her hobbies include playing card games with friends, hanging out with family, and watching Netflix. Her greatest memories are playing hacky sack every Friday for Spanish Club during her senior year and the whole IHSA State Volleyball Tournament experience this past fall. Kenly and the Spartans earned a 3rd place IHSA State trophy. After high school, Kenly will be attending Parkland College to study nursing. In the future, she would like to study abroad in Spain. Her advice for future SJO students is to enjoy every moment and to not take anything for granted. Her favorite classes at SJO were Physics with Mr. Glazier and Spanish with Senor Sutton. Throughout her years of schooling, Kenly’s favorite teachers are Mrs. Anderson at PVO and Mrs. Lindenmeyer and Mr. Schacht at SJO. Jordan Kelly
Basketball (4 years), Soccer (3 years), Football (1 year), Maroon Platoon
Jordan lives in St. Joseph with his family. He has two older brothers. His hobbies include hanging out with friends and family and playing sports. His greatest memories at SJO were his senior basketball season and the bonds he has created at SJO with all of his teachers and students. After high school, Jordan is attending Parkland College and will be majoring in construction management. His advice for future SJO students is to not take anything for granted. His favorite classes at SJO were math with Mr. Duval, all of his Strength classes, and all of the English classes he had with Mrs. Lindenmeyer. Throughout his years of schooling, Jordan’s favorite teachers are Mr. Risley at St. Joseph Middle School and Mr. Duval at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Jordan on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
Stephanie Trame
Volleyball (4 years), Maroon Platoon, NHS, Spanish Club, FCA, AMP, Student Council, We The People
Stephanie lives in St. Joseph with her mom, dad, and younger sister. Her hobbies include traveling and hanging out with family and friends. Her greatest memories at SJO were going to the IHSA State Volleyball Tournament at Redbird Arena in the fall of 2019. Stephanie will never forget this great moment and also will not forget when the whole SJO varsity volleyball team got stuck in the hotel elevator for about 15 seconds. Additionally, she will always remember going to the We The People State Competition in Chicago during her senior year. After high school, Stephanie will be attending Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. She plans to pick her major during her sophomore year of college. Her advice for future SJO students is to enjoy every day and to participate in everything you can. Her favorite classes at SJO were her English classes with both Mrs. Chambers and Mrs. Lindenmeyer and Civics with Mr. Schacht. Throughout her years of schooling, Stephanie’s favorite teachers are Mr. Risley at St. Joseph Middle School and Mrs. Lindenmeyer, Mr. Schacht, and Mrs. Rein at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Brayden Weaver
Football (4 years), Basketball (4 years), Baseball (4 years), Spanish Club, Spanish Club Leader, NHS, AMP, Future Spartans Mentoring Program
Brayden lives in St. Joseph with his mom, dad, and younger brother. His hobbies are being around people and spending time with family and friends. Brayden has many great memories at SJO. As a three-sport athlete, he will never forget the IHSA State Baseball Tournament during his freshman year. During his junior year, Brayden and the SJO varsity football team beat Unity at home, which is also a moment he will bever forget. In basketball, Brayden got to play during senior night in February, which was very inspiring because he suffered a leg injury during football. He was not sure if he would get to play basketball this season, but he worked hard and persevered. Brayden will miss the overall atmosphere of football. After high school, Brayden is attending Illinois College in Jacksonville. He is majoring in history education at the secondary level. His advice for future SJO students is to not worry about things you cannot control. He also thinks that even though high school is tough, it is the best. Brayden’s favorite classes at SJO were all of his history classes with Mr. Schacht and World History with Mr. Kieffer. Throughout his schooling, Brayden’s favorite teachers throughout the years include Mrs. Stone, Mr. Risley, and Mrs. Ford at St. Joseph Middle School and Mr. Schacht and Mr. Beckett at St. Joseph-Ogden High School.
