St. Joseph-Ogden Senior Spotlight: Konnor George, Anna Tranel, Lacey Kaiser and Jaden Miller

Konnor George

FFA

Konnor lives in St. Joseph with his family. He has four siblings: one older sister, two younger sisters, and one younger brother. His hobbies revolve around music, and Konnor really enjoys playing the guitar. His greatest memory at SJO was Homecoming during his freshman year. After high school, Konnor plans to join the U.S. Army to pursue a career. Konnor may also want to pursue a career in a law enforcement field. His advice for future SJO students is to do homework and to stay on task. His favorite classes at SJO were World History and Geography with Mr. Kieffer and U.S. History and Civics with Mr. Beckett. Throughout his years of schooling, Konnor’s favorite teachers have been Mrs. Steele at St. Joseph Middle School and Mr. Kieffer, Mr. Skinner, Mr. Billman, and Mrs. Franzen at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Konnor on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.

Anna Tranel

Track and Field (4 years), Maroon Platoon, Spanish Club

Anna lives in St. Joseph with her family. She has four siblings: one older brother, one younger sister, and two younger brothers. Her hobbies are running, writing with sidewalk chalk, and hanging out with friends. Anna has a lot of great memories at SJO. She enjoyed going to all of the home football games. She also enjoyed the powderpuff game before Homecoming during her senior year. After high school, Anna is planning to go to either Parkland College or Augustana University to study actuary science. Her advice for future SJO students is to make the most of high school and enjoy it because you never know when it will end. Her favorite classes at SJO were all of her math classes, U.S. History, Civics, and Advanced Biology. Throughout her years of schooling, Anna’s favorite teachers include Mr. Risley and Mrs. Ford at St. Joseph Middle School and Mr. Schacht, Senor Sutton, Ms. Steffen, and Mrs. Krisman at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Anna on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.

Lacey Kaiser

Volleyball (4 years),  Basketball (1 year), Maroon Platoon, Student Council, NHS, FFA, Spanish Club,  Advisory Mentoring Club

Lacey lives with her family in St. Joseph. She has one older sister. Her hobbies include playing volleyball and spending time with friends and family. Lacey also helped coach the 7th and 8th grade PVO volleyball teams during her senior year as well. Her greatest memories at SJO revolve around volleyball. This past fall, the SJO volleyball team earned a 3rd place IHSA State trophy. This whole experience is something Lacey will never forget, and she also enjoyed the challenge of getting to the state tournament as well. The IHSA Volleyball Super-Sectional game in Palos Heights against Chicago Christian was a game that Lacey will remember. SJO lost the first set of this game. Being on the road, SJO roared back and won a very competitive second set, and then shut the door by winning the third set with a vengeance. After high school, Lacey is headed to Heartland Community College to study occupational therapy and to play volleyball. Her advice for future SJO students is to get involved and soak in every moment because high school goes by so fast. Her favorite classes at SJO were Geometry with Mr. Duval, English with Mrs. Lindenmeyer, and Horticulture with Mr. Pfundstein. Throughout her years of schooling, Lacey’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Max and Mrs. Anderson at PVO and Ms. Steffen, Mr. Duval, Mrs. Duitsman, and Mr. Schacht at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Lacey on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.

Jaden Miller

Football (4 years), Baseball (4 years), Basketball (3 years), Maroon Platoon

Jaden lives in St. Joseph with his family. His hobbies include mowing, working at Red Lobster, and spending time with family. His greatest memories at SJO revolved around football and baseball. He will never forget going to the IHSA State Baseball Tournament in Peoria during his freshman year. Also, Jaden will always remember the Friday night lights because of the overall environment of SJO football. After high school, Jaden will attend Parkland College to study construction management. After Parkland, he may want to transfer to the University of Illinois. His advice for future SJO students is to enjoy every minute of high school because time flies. His favorite classes at SJO were Ag Construction with Mr. Billman and Business Management with Mr. Skinner. Throughout his years of schooling, Jaden’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Cler and Mr. Risley at St. Joseph Middle School and Mr. Billman at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Jaden on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
