St. Joseph-Ogden Seniors: Nathan Maier, Emily Hardimon, Connor Lusk and Rylee Stahl

Nathan Maier

Basketball (3 years), Football (1 year)

Nathan lives in St. Joseph with his family. He has two older brothers. His hobbies are reading books, working on his computer, practicing photography, filming, and hanging out with family. Nathan’s greatest memories at SJO include his positive times being a part of the boys’ basketball team as a manager during his junior and senior years. Nathan felt motivated to be a part of the basketball family, and he will always remember these moments. After high school, Nathan is planning to attend Parkland College and wants to major in something business oriented. His advice for future SJO students is to always try to reach out if you need help because St. Joseph is such a welcoming community. Nathan really enjoyed being a part of SJO. His favorite classes at SJO were Trigonometry with Mr. Duval and Spanish with Senor Sutton. Throughout his years of schooling, Nathan’s favorite teachers include Mr. Kieffer, Senor Sutton, and Mrs. Lindenmeyer at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Nathan on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.  

Emily Hardimon

Spanish Club, SADA, Maroon Platoon, We The People

Emily lives in St. Joseph with her family. She has one younger sister. Her hobbies include playing tennis, playing sand volleyball, and painting. Emily has a lot of great memories at SJO. Over the years, she has enjoyed post prom and playing hacky sack before school. Emily has also been a big part of the Maroon Platoon. During her senior year, Emily and the Maroon Platoon were road warriors and traveled to Unity High School to cheer on the SJO varsity volleyball team to victory, which is a moment Emily will never forget. After high school, Emily plans to attend Illinois State University to major in communication sciences and disorders and minor in Spanish. Her advice for future SJO students is to enjoy their senior year and to go to as many sporting events as possible. Her favorite classes at SJO were Spanish with Senor Sutton, and all of the classes she had Mr. Schacht as her teacher. Throughout her years of schooling, Emily’s favorite teachers include Mrs. McDonald at St. Joseph Grade School, Mrs. Thompson at St. Joseph Middle School, and Mr. Schacht, Senor Sutton, and Mrs. Lindenmeyer at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Emily on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.  

Connor Lusk

Wrestling (1 year), Maroon Platoon

Connor lives in St. Joseph with his family. His hobbies include competitive powerlifting, playing the bass guitar, and helping others at the gym. Connor’s greatest memories at SJO revolve around the weight room. During his sophomore year in the weight room, Connor remembers when he started weightlifting. He deadlifted over 600 pounds in front of everyone, which is something he will always remember. After high school, Connor plans to attend Parkland College to study kinesiology therapy and athletic training. After Parkland College, he would like to transfer to the University of Illinois. His advice for future SJO students is to have fun, don’t blow off your classes, and to pay attention. His favorite classes at SJO were U.S. History, World History, and Sociology. Throughout his years of schooling, his favorite teachers include Mrs. Mabry, Mrs. Svenson, and Mrs. Kinney at St. Joseph Middle School and Mr. Kieffer, Mr. Schacht, Mrs. Beckett, and Mr. Skinner at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Connor on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.  

Rylee Stahl

Volleyball (4 years), Student Council, NHS, Spanish Club, Maroon Platoon

Rylee lives in St. Joseph with her family. She has one younger brother. Her hobbies are playing volleyball and hanging out with friends. Rylee’s greatest memories at SJO revolve around volleyball. She will definitely remember the Class 2A IHSA Volleyball Super-Sectional at Palos Heights vs. Chicago Christian. The Spartans won this incredible match after losing the first set. The momentum switch during this game was monumental and after this big win, SJO advanced to the IHSA State Volleyball Tournament at Redbird Arena. The Spartans earned a 3rd place IHSA State trophy, which is a moment Rylee will never forget. After high school, Rylee plans to attend Heartland Community College to major in middle level education and to play volleyball. Her advice for future SJO students is to enjoy every moment, get involved, and go to games, events, activities, etc. Her favorite class at SJO was Advanced Spanish III with Senor Sutton. Throughout her years of schooling, Rylee’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Lebinski and Mrs. Ford at St. Joseph Middle School and Senor Sutton at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Rylee on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.
