St. Joseph-Ogden Senior Spotlight: Andrea Cunningham, Luke Cohen, Blake Dable and Drew Coursey
Andrea Cunningham
We The People, Spanish Club
Andrea lives in Royal with her family. She has one older sister and one younger brother. Her hobbies are reading, writing, and art. Andrea has many great memories at SJO. She remembers a funny moment in one of her science classes when a paper towel was caught on fire by accident during a lab. This happened so fast, and Andrea and her lab partner will not forget it. Andrea also enjoyed eating lunch and socializing with friends throughout her years of high school as well. After high school, Andrea will attend the University of Illinois to major in elementary education. Her advice for future SJO students is to not procrastinate and to participate in school events. Her favorite classes at SJO were U.S. History, AP English 3, and all of her Social Studies classes. Throughout her years of school, Andrea’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Anderson at PVO and Mr. Beckett at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Andrea on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.
Luke Cohen
Soccer (4 years), Basketball (3 years), Track and Field (2 years)
Luke lives outside of Ogden with his family. His hobbies are welding and spending time with family and friends. Luke’s greatest memories at SJO started during his freshman year on the soccer field. He has enjoyed playing soccer throughout the years. After high school, Luke will attend Eastern Illinois University and will major in finance. His advice for future SJO students is to keep a positive attitude about everything and to enjoy every moment. His favorite classes at SJO were Algebra I with Ms. Steffen and U.S. History with Mr. Beckett. Throughout his years of schooling, Luke’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Howard at PVO and Ms. Steffen and Mr. Beckett at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Luke on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
Blake Dable
Football (4 years), Baseball (4 years), Basketball (1 year), Maroon Platoon
Blake lives in St. Joseph with his family. He has one older brother. His hobbies are playing video games, playing ping pong, and hanging out with his family and friends. Blake’s greatest memories at SJO revolve around sports. He has enjoyed playing and watching all of the sports at SJO over the years. Blake enjoyed football competitions and workouts in the summers and being a major part of the Maroon Platoon. After high school, Blake will become a Redbird, as he will be attending Illinois State University to major in business management. His advice for future SJO students is to make sure to always be in the moment and to participate in everything. His favorite classes at SJO were U.S. History with Mr. Schacht and Business Law with Mr. Skinner. Throughout his years of schooling, Blake’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Singletary and Mrs. Dunn at St. Joseph Grade School; Mrs. Lubinski at St. Joseph Middle School; and Senor Sutton, Mr. Schacht, and Mr. Beckett at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Drew Coursey

Drew lives with his family in St. Joseph. He has one older sister and two younger brothers. His hobbies are reading, playing the guitar, walking his dog, and fishing. Drew’s greatest memories at SJO include playing football, basketball, and baseball with his friends. He also enjoyed hanging around his friends all four years of high school. After high school, Drew is headed to Bloomington, Indiana to become a Hoosier. He will attend Indiana University, and his major is currently undeclared. His advice for future SJO students is to not take anything for granted, and to always do what you think is right. His favorite classes at SJO were all of the classes he had with Mr. Schacht. Throughout his years of schooling, Drew’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Ford at St. Joseph Middle School and Mr. Schacht at St. Joseph-Ogden High School.
