Guidelines for Farmer’s Markets in Champaign County

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Champaign Farmers Market, Urbana’s Market at the Square, and UBA’s Market in the Square will all remain open to shoppers in 2020.
In order to keep produce, vendors, and shoppers safe, a collaboration has been made to create the Champaign Urbana COVID-19 Market Safety Plan. The list of guidelines navigate what is expected in order to shop at any of these markets. The list follows for market operations:
- Practice Social distancing and remain 6 feet away between vendor booths.
- One shopper per household are allowed market entry, with the exception of elderly or handicapped.
- Mark X’s 6 feet apart for shoppers to stand on.
As a visitor, the Safety plan has advised this list of compliance:
- Stay home if you feel unwell
- Wear masks and practice good hygiene
- Avoid touching of the eyes, nose, and mouth
- Do not touch products that have not been bagged and purchased by vendor
- No food will be consumed on-site
- Maintain 6 feet from others
- Wash hands upon entering and exiting
- Be ready when your turn comes
- Limit attendance, and no children
- Pay with a credit or debit card, and SNAP
- If using reusable bags, place purchased items inside yourself.
- Wash all products thoroughly
These guidelines are vital for markets to stay open. Compliance is necessary with no exceptions.
