St. Joseph-Ogden Senior Spotlight: Samantha Blobaum, Ginny Bytnar, Ross Booker and
Samantha Blobaum
Drama Club, Art Club, FFA
Samantha lives with her family in St. Joseph. Her hobbies include being outside, reading, working on arts and crafts, and hiking at Homer Lake. Samantha’s greatest memories at SJO include prom, post prom, all of the school plays, and being able to hang out with all of her friends. After high school, Samantha will attend Parkland College to major in architecture. After Parkland College, she plans to transfer to the University of Illinois. Her advice for future SJO students is to get their work done on time and to get involved with extra-curriculars. Samantha’s favorite classes at SJO were Art, Horticulture, and all of the classes she had with Mr. Beckett and Mr. Kieffer. Throughout her years of schooling, Samantha’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Pirtle and Mrs. Stevens at St. Joseph Grade School; Mr. Risley, Mr. Thompson, and Mrs. Ford at St. Joseph Middle School; and Mr. Kieffer, Mr. Beckett, Mr. Beccue, and Mrs. Lindenmeyer at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Ginny Bytnar
Marching Band (4 years), Spanish Club, Spanish Club Leader, We The People, Drama Club
Ginny lives with her family in St. Joseph. Her hobbies include singing, reading, and hanging out with friends and family. Ginny’s greatest memories at SJO include the Disney Showcase that she was a part of during her junior year. During her senior year, Ginny really enjoyed the circle of memories band meeting for seniors this past fall. After high school, Ginny will attend the University of Illinois to study electrical engineering. Her advice for future SJO students is to use your time well and to ask for help because the staff and teachers are nice. Ginny’s favorite classes at SJO were Spanish, Physics, Economics, and all of her history classes. Throughout her years of schooling, Ginny’s favorite teachers include Mr. Dunn at St. Joseph Grade School, Mr. Risley at St. Joseph Middle School, and Senor Sutton and Mr. Simondsen at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Ross Booker
Football (1 year), Maroon Platoon, FFA
Ross lives in St. Joseph with his family. He has one older brother. His hobbies include working on the farm, landscaping, working outside, and working on motors. Ross has many great memories at SJO. During his freshman year, he started FFA and it was fun for Ross to get to know everyone. During his junior year, he started thinking about playing football. During his senior year, Ross played football and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. He also really enjoyed all of the FFA events at SJO. After high school, Ross will attend Parkland College to major in diesel mechanics. He wants to find a job after attending Parkland. His advice for future SJO students is to try out for something even if you aren’t sure about it to give yourself an opportunity. His other advice is to not take senior year for granted and to cherish every moment of high school because it is a fun and fast four years. His favorite classes at SJO were Into to Ag, Consumers Ed, Ag Mechanics, BSAA, and all of his FFA and Agriculture classes. Throughout his years of schooling, Ross’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Olson, Mrs. Mathis, Mrs. Max, and Mrs. Schoudel at PVO and Mr. Skinner, Ms. Pensinger, Mrs. Duitsman, Mr. Schacht, Mr. Glazier, Mrs. Brooks, and Mr. Beckett at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Aubrey Kern
Volleyball (1 year), Student Council, Maroon Platoon
Aubrey lives with her family in St. Joseph. She has one older brother. Her main hobby is to hang out with family and friends. Aubrey’s greatest memories at SJO include going to all of the home games and Homecoming and Prom week. After high school, Aubrey will attend Parkland College. She is undecided on her major. Her advice for future SJO students is to have as much fun as you can and to not take anything for granted. Her favorite classes at SJO were all of her English classes and Biology. Throughout her years of schooling, Aubrey’s favorite teachers include Mr. Risley and Mrs. Kinney at St. Joseph Middle School and Mr. Duval and Mrs. Lindenmeyer at St. Joseph-Ogden High School.
