St. Joseph-Ogden Senior Spotlight: Asjah Fonner, Zac Seeley, Tyler Jones and Cody Johnston

Asjah Fonner

Drama Club

Asjah lives in St. Joseph with her family. She has one younger brother. Her hobbies are creative writing and reading. Asjah has many great memories at SJO. She enjoyed everything about Drama Club and will always remember being a part of the musicals during both her junior and senior years. After high school, Asjah will attend Parkland College to study secondary English education. After Parkland College, Asjah plans to transfer to Eastern Illinois University. Her advice for future SJO students is to push yourself to finish your homework, and don’t give up on what makes you happy. Her favorite classes at SJO were Journalism and all of her English classes. Throughout her years of schooling, Asjah’s favorite teachers include Mr. Risley at St. Joseph Middle School and Mrs. Franzen at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Asjah on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.  

Zac Seeley

Soccer (4 years), Maroon Platoon

Zac lives in St. Joseph with his family. He has one younger brother and one younger sister. His hobbies are running, fishing, playing soccer, playing video games, and hanging out with friends. Zac has many great memories at SJO. He has enjoyed playing soccer at SJO, eating lunch with his friends each day, and participating in Homecoming week all four years of high school. After high school, Zac is going into the U.S. Army and is headed to Fort Jackson, South Carolina for basic training on May 26th. His advice for future SJO students is to get your homework finished on time. Zac’s favorite classes at SJO were Ag Construction, Ag Mech Tech, BSAA, Biology, and Intro to Ag. Throughout his years of schooling, Zac’s favorite teachers include Mr. Miller and Mr. Risley at St. Joseph Middle School and Mr. Beckett and Mr. Billman at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Zac on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.  

 

Tyler Jones

Football (1 year), Drama Club

Tyler lives in St. Joseph with his family. He has seven brothers: four older brothers and three younger brothers. His hobbies are running and playing video games. Tyler’s greatest memories at SJO include his experience in Drama Club during his freshman and sophomore years, working in the SJO greenhouse during Horticulture class, and attending post prom as a junior. After high school, Tyler is headed to Fort Benning on June 15th for boot camp in the U.S. Army National Guard. After boot camp, Tyler plans to attend Parkland College to study physical therapy. His advice for future SJO students is to not procrastinate. His favorite class at SJO was Horticulture. Throughout his years of schooling, Tyler’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Kirk at St. Joseph Grade School, Mrs. Ford at St. Joseph Middle School, and Mrs. Steffen and Mrs. Krisman at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Tyler is extremely excited to be a part of the National Guard and is looking forward to this experience. Congrats to Tyler on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.  

Cody Johnston

Bass Fishing, Scholastic Bowl, We The People, Rube Goldberg Team, Marching Band, SADA

Cody lives with his family in St. Joseph. His hobbies are fishing, riding motorcycles, and playing video games. Cody has many great memories at SJO. He earned first place in his We The People unit, and he also earned first place in percussion at one of his marching band competitions. Cody also enjoyed participating on the Rube Goldberg team. After high school, Cody will attend Parkland College to pursue an engineering degree. He is also working on an apprenticeship in the electrical union. His advice for future SJO students is to pursue extracurricular activities and to do your homework. Cody’s favorite classes at SJO were Biology, Physics, U.S. History, Civics, and Calculus. Throughout his years of schooling, Cody’s favorite teachers include Mr. Risley at St. Joseph Middle School and Mrs. Kerner, Mr. Glazier, Mr. Schacht, and Mrs. Rash at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Cody on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
