St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District raising money for MDA
The St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District has launched their 2020 MDA Fill the Boot Fundraiser.
In conjunction with the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s fundraising efforts, the St. Joseph-Stanton Department usually takes August to take time to stand in the four-way stop at IL-150 and Main Street to ask for donations.
This year the group is playing it COVID-safe, though, and accepting donations online.
Their goal is to raise $1,500 by Aug. 31. Usually that amount is raised in two nights of fundraising.
“This year, with a different setup, we weren’t sure what to expect, but rest assured, no matter your donation amount, it will go to a good cause & it all adds up,” St. Joseph-Stanton wrote on their donation website.
The MDA has supported children and adults with muscular dystrophy and ALS, along with other life-threatening diseases that take away basic freedoms – like walking, talking, eating, hugging, and ultimately life itself for over 60 years.
