All seven SJ-O competitors finished the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 12) within 95 seconds of one another, helping the school to a fourth-place showing in the 10-school field.
Ava Knap led the Spartans, running the 3-mile course in 20 minutes, 58.09 seconds. She ended in 16th.
Other team leaders were: Helene Jones (22nd in 21:44.37), Taryn Sexton (23rd in 21:49.15), Malorie Sarnecki (24th in 21:51.64), Chloe Burkhalter (26th in 22:00.59), Addie Allen (31st in 22:30.22) and Ashlyn Lannert (32nd in 22:33.16).
There were 77 runners in the event.
Monticello captured team honors with 24 points Runner-up Unity had a score of 45 points. SJ-O totaled 107 points.
SJ-O returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 15) at Monticello.
