St. Joseph-Ogden’s boys’ golf team captured its fifth consecutive dual-meet win on Thursday (Sept. 17), edging Villa Grove/Heritage 185-189 at Tri-City Country Club.
The Spartans’ team score was their best of the season.
Ty Pence carded a 42 to lead SJ-O. He finished in a second-place tie individually.
Maddux Carter and Logan Smith each fired 47s for the Spartans. The team’s other participants were McGuire Atwood (49), Jack Robertson (51) and Jacob Kern (53).
SJ-O (5-1) returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 22) in the Illini Prairie Conference Tournament at the UI course in Savoy.
