Reed Sperry and Kyle McFarland posted matching scores of 47 on Monday (Sept. 28) to help Oakwood’s boys’ golf team to a second-place finish in a four-school meet at Hubbard Trail Golf Course.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin was the meet champion with a 171. Runner-up Oakwood had a 191 and was followed by Milford (193) and Hoopeston Area (215).
McFarland’s score was his season’s best.
The Comets’ other participants were: Case Kopacz (48), Travis Goodner (49), Mason Goodner (63) and Seth Halls (73).
Oakwood returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 1) in the Vermilion Valley Conference Tournament.
