Three SJ-O entries dropped narrow 8-6 losses in a Friday (Oct. 2) girls’ tennis dual-meet loss to Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley.
The Falcons defeated the Spartans 5-0.
Both singles matches ended with 8-6 scores in favor of GCMS.
At No. 1, SJ-O’s Hope Rajlich lost to Katie Steidinger.
At No. 2, SJ-O’s Claire Huffman lost to Grace Christensen.
The No. 1 doubles match also ended with an 8-6 score with SJ-O’s Katie McDermott and Allison Kearney losing to Christensen and London Hixson.
The Spartans’ other doubles entries were Abbey Dow and Grace Schmitz at No. 2 and Emily Fisher and Emma Rydell at No. 3.
SJ-O (0-4) returns to action on Monday (Oct. 5) at St. Thomas More.
