The Spartans dropped a 9-0 decision to St. Thomas More on Monday (Oct. 5) in Champaign.
Included in the loss was a tough setback at No. 3 doubles by the SJ-O duo of Abbey Dow and Grace Schmitz.
They won the first set against STM’s Molly Hergenrother and Elise Hankel 6-1 before dropping a 6-4, 17-15 decision.
The Spartans also suffered a hard-fought loss at No. 2 doubles.
Allison Kearney and Flannery McCorkel took a 6-2, 7-5 loss to Emma Graham and Maris Greene.
SJ-O (0-5) returns to action on Friday (Oct. 9) at Watseka.
