Vermilion County Conservation District to host to October events
The Vermilion County Conservation District will offer two fall color forest explorations in October.
VCCD Educator Lara Danzl will host the one-mile guided hike on Lookout Point Trail where visitors will learn about why leaves change color and how animals and plants prepare for the winter on Oct. 17 at 10 a.m.

The Oct. 25 event at 1:30 p.m. will include a walk along Willow Creek Trail. VCCD Educator Susan Biggs Warner will lead the pioneer and native american life walk where visitors will learn about and discover the plants and animals that were important to the people that inhabited this area.

A fee of $5 per person is required for each hike, limited to only 15 people. Hikes are open to all ages, but children under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult. Properly worn facemasks will be required.
