Savanna Frazen wins Class 2A IESA sectional race
St. Joseph eighth-grader Savanna Franzen was the individual champion on Saturday (Oct. 10) in the girls’ Class 2A IESA sectional cross-country meet at the St. Joseph Community Park.
Franzen’s winning 2-mile time was 12 minutes, 24.4 seconds. Her margin of victory was 21 seconds.
Four of her teammates turned in top-20 performances.
Eighth-grader Madison Clampitt was 10th in 14:13.1, fifth-grader Lyla Patton was 14th in 14:31.0, fifth-grader Ava Alexander was 15th in 14:41.6 and fifth-grader Averie Dietiker was 18th in 14:54.1.
The Panthers’ other participants in the season-ending meet were: Sydney Steinbach (25th in 15:14.7) and sixth-grader Sophie Schmitz (27th in 15:41.9).
