Sophomore Jacob Kern carded rounds of 47 and 51 for an 18-hole total of 98 on Tuesday (Oct. 13) to finish in a tie for 61st in the Class 1A IHSA Tuscola Sectional boys’ golf tournament at Ironwood Golf Course.
He started the tournament on the back nine.
Kern was the lone St. Joseph-Ogden competitor.
“Not his best round, but making it to sectionals as a sophomore was his goal for this season,” SJ-O coach Jeff Kern said. “Regardless of what the scorecard said, he played some really great shots and will use this experience to build for next year.”
El Paso/Gridley won the team championship by 19 shots with a composite score of 320.
