Heritage announces second-semester plans

The Heritage School District will continue with the model that brought them through the beginning of the 2020-21 school year during second semester.

Families will have the option to decide if they want their child to attend school each day for four hours plus one hour of online instruction or take advantage of the district-funded Educere, a third-party online education platform.

Choosing all-day remote learning will be a decision that is in place for the entire second semester, even if students return to school. Students who choose the remote learning option will still be eligible to take part in all extracurriculars as per ISBE/IHSA/IESA/IDPH guidelines when those resume.

Parents have been asked to notify the district if their child is changing learning modes by Dec. 18.

The district notes that if COVID-19 cases spike locally or if there is a state-wide closure the district will revert to the district’s remote learning plan. Should Illinois enter into Stage 5, schools will be able to expand their in-school learning options, possibly returning to normal.
