Comets show improvement in second game against Armstrong-Potomac
By Fred Kroner
Due to a scheduling quirk, Oakwood’s girls’ basketball team had to play the same team in its second game of the season as it did in the opener.
The Comets lost again to Armstrong-Potomac, but fared much better. Six days after managing just five points against the Trojans, Oakwood dropped a 58-41 decision at home to A-P on Wednesday (Feb. 10).
Addie Wright, who missed the first game, led the Comets with 17 points, including two three-pointers. Wright netted eight of her points in the fourth quarter.
Ashlynn Pinnick added 13 points and hit 5 of 6 free throw attempts. Jaydah Arrowsmith also made a three-pointer for Oakwood.
The Comets return to action on Friday at Milford.
