Eight players reached the scoring column on Monday (Feb. 8) as the St. Joseph-Ogden girls’ basketball team posted its second consecutive double-figure win.
Led by Abby Behrens with 14 points and Payton Vallee with 12 points, the Spartans upended St. Thomas More 52-31 in Champaign in SJ-O’s Illini Prairie Conference opener.
Vallee made six of her points in the opening quarter as SJ-O opened up a 16-9 advantage. Behrens sunk three three-point shots en route to her game-high point total.
Payton Jacob and Peyton Jones also made three-point shots for the Spartans.
SJ-O returns to action on Thursday (Feb. 11) at home against Rantoul.
