Armstrong and Jacob reach double-figures in win over Rantoul

The Spartans reached their highest scoring output of the season on Thursday (Feb. 11) with a 64-32 Illini Prairie Conference victory at home over Rantoul.
None of SJ-O’s first three opponents this season have managed as many as 34 points.
Ella Armstrong scored seven of her team-high 16 points in the opening quarter as the Spartans built a 15-7 lead after the first eight minutes.
Payton Jacob added 12 points, including eight in the third stanza. Taylor Wells chipped in with seven points. Totaling six points apiece were Peyton Jones and Payton Vallee.
SJ-O nailed 7 of 11 free throws, including a 6-for-6 showing by Armstrong.
Rantoul managed just four first-half field goals.
SJ-O (3-0) returns to action on Thursday (Feb. 18) at home against Tolono Unity.
