Three Comets score in double-figures against Spartans

Despite three players scoring in double figures, the Comets dropped a 66-52 boys’ basketball decision on Wednesday (Feb. 17) at St. Joseph-Ogden.
Entering the fourth quarter, SJ-O held a slender 44-40 lead. Spartan head coach Kiel Duval was impressed by Oakwood.
“They are good and have guys who can score,” Duval said. “They play well together and will be tough in their conference the next few years.”
Junior Josh Young led Oakwood with 18 points. Senior Brevin Wells scored 16 points and sophomore Dalton Hobick chipped in with 10 points.
Wells scored eight of his points in the final period.
SJ-O sophomore Ty Pence poured in 40 points, 18 coming during the final quarter. Pence also cleared 19 rebounds.
The Comets (3-1) return to action on Friday (Feb. 19) at home against Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
