Panthers bounce back from recent losses

The St. Joseph seventh-grade boys’ basketball team bounced back from its first loss by winning its next two games.
The team lost at Tolono Unity, 43-23 on Thursday (Feb. 11). Tim Blackburn-Kelly hit a team-high seven points.
On Saturday (Feb. 13), St. Joseph upended Monticello in a road game, 42-18. Trevor Ames tallied 11 points, Zach Harper had nine and Cam Schluter finished with eight points.
St. Joseph returned home and topped Danville North Ridge, 46-14, on Wednesday (Feb. 17). Ames totaled 11 points and Harper contributed nine points.
On Thursday (Feb. 18), St. Joseph was decisioned by Mahomet-Seymour, 37-32, in Mahomet.
The seventh-grade team has a 4-2 season record and returns to action on Thursday (Feb. 25) at Bismarck-Henning.
St. Joseph Eighth-Grade Boys’ Basketball
The Panthers snapped a two-game losing streak on Tuesday (Feb. 23), upending Paris at home, 46-34.
Tanner Siems scored 18 points and Collin Thomey contributed nine points.
St. Joseph dropped decisions to Danville North Ridge and Mahomet-Seymour on back-to-back days on Wednesday (Feb. 17) and Thursday (Feb. 18). The loss to M-S was by a 40-21 margin.
St. Joseph (4-2) returns to action on Thursday (Feb. 25) at Bismarck-Henning.
