Junior Evan Ingram hit a team season-high six three-point shots on Friday (March 12) for the St.  Joseph-Ogden boys’ basketball team, but it wasn’t enough to lift the Spartans to a win in their final game of the year.

Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin held off SJ-O, 55-52, in a non-conference game in Bismarck.

Ingram tallied a game-high 21 points, his top scoring output of the season. Jackson Rydell added 11 points, Ty Pence scored 10 points and Andrew Beyers netted eight points.

SJ-O held a 13-12 lead after one quarter, but the Blue Devils roared into a 33-25 halftime lead. SJ-O cut its deficit to a single point three times in the final period, including once in the final half-minute, but could not regain the lead.

Ingram and Rydell shared the team-lead with six rebounds apiece.

For the season, Pence led the team in scoring in 12 games and in rebounding in nine games. He averaged a double-double, 25.7 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game.

Ingram, who led the Spartans in scoring once, was the other double-figure scorer, producing an 11.1 scoring average.

Ingram (26), Pence (23) and Cameron Costa (15) were the team leaders in three-point conversions.

Beyers and Rydell each led the team in rebounding twice. Ingram was the leader in one game.

The most accurate free throw shooters were Beyers and Ingram, each at 82.4 percent. Pence was the most adept at getting to the free throw line. He attempted 108 foul shots for the season and made 69.4 percent of his free throws.

SJ-O ended the season with an overall record of 9-4 to go with a 6-2 mark in Illini Prairie Conference games.
