Denius and Wright named to All-Vermilion County and All-Vermilion Valley Conference girls’ basketball first-team

Two Comets earned recognition on the 10-player All-Vermilion County and All-Vermilion Valley Conference girls’ basketball first-team units.

Senior Aaliyah Denius and sophomore Addie Wright were picked for each of the two first teams. Wright was one of just two sophomores on the first team.

Wright had Oakwood’s top scoring game this season, with a 24-point performance.

Denius was the team’s most accurate free throw shooter, among players with at least 10 attempts. She hit 71.4 percent of her attempts.

In the all-County voting, senior Tiffany Paris earned honorable mention status.

In the all-Conference voting, junior Ashlynn Pinnick was an honorable mention selection.
