Sam Howie posted a hat trick on Tuesday (March 23) as the Comets won their third soccer match in a row, 3-1 over visiting Hoopeston Area.
Reef Pacot assisted on the first and last goals by Howie. The first goal accounted for the only scoring in the first half.
Brady Tevebaugh assisted on the second goal. After a score by the Cornjerkers, Howie’s final goal put the match out of reach.
Comets’ goalkeeper Aaron Dean registered four saves.
Oakwood/Salt Fork (3-1) returns to action on Thursday (March 25) at home against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin.
