Senior Mason Behrens had a hat trick on Monday (March 22) as St. Joseph-Ogden captured its first soccer win of the season, 3-2 over visiting Macon Meridian.
Behrens scored twice in the first half as the Spartans built a 2-0 lead.
SJ-O eventually went ahead, 3-0, and then held on for the win.
On Wednesday (March 24), the Spartans overcame a one-goal deficit to edge visiting Bloomington Central Catholic, 2-1.
Logan Ingram had a goal and an assist for SJ-O. His second-half goal snapped a 1-1 deadlock.
The tie was created after BCC scored first, when Ingram assisted Behrens.
Hunter Ketchum stopped five shots in goal.
“Strong team play at all positions,” SJ-O coach Bill DeJarnette said.
The Spartans (2-3) return to action on Saturday (March 27) at home against Tolono Unity.
