Ruch, Wells and Young named to Vermilion Valley Conference and Vermilion County all-star teams

Three Oakwood High School athletes were chosen to the first team in voting for both the Vermilion Valley Conference and Vermilion County all-star teams.
Seniors Isaiah Ruch and Brevin Wells were honorees along with junior Josh Young.
A fourth player, sophomore Dalton Hobick, was a first-team choice for the Vermilion County team, but was a special mention selection for the all-conference team.
Oakwood won the VVC championship, sporting a 9-0 league mark.
Young (16.5 average), Wells (13.5 average) Hobick (12.7 average) and Ruch (10.8 average) were double-figure scorers for the Comets’ 12-game season.
The team’s fifth starter, junior Gaven Clouse, was accorded honorable mention status for both the Vermilion Valley Conference and the Vermilion County all-star squads. Clouse had a 3.6 scoring average.
