Oakwood Knights pick up first win in 2021 season

Three different players have led the team in scoring in Oakwood’s first three eighth-grade girls’ basketball games.
On Saturday (March 20), Bella Bradford (four points) set the pace in a 39-7 loss at Hoopeston Area. Allie Huchel contributed two points.
On Wednesday (March 24), in a combined game with both seventh- and eighth-graders, Oakwood lost at Salt Fork, 30-10. Samantha Dunavan led Oakwood with six points. Hanner and Vermillion each netted two points.
On Monday (March 29), Oakwood dropped its home-opener, 26-17, to Schlarman Academy. Madi Nicoson hit a team-high eight points. Vermillion finished with four points.
Oakwood earned its first win, in overtime, on Tuesday (March 30), posting a 19-13 triumph at Heritage in another combined game for seventh- and eighth-graders. Dunavan made a season-high 11 points.
Oakwood (1-3) returns to action on Monday (April 5) at Prairieview Ogden.
