Oakwood’s seventh-grade girls’ basketball team has gotten off to a strong start, winning each of its first two games.
On Saturday (March 20), Oakwood defeated Hoopeston Area, 18-13, in Hoopeston. Caydence Vermillion (eight points) and Gracie Hanner (four points) were the team’s top scorers.
On Monday (March 29), Hanner hit seven points and Vermillion added five as Oakwood edged Schlarman Academy in its home-opener, 16-15.
Oakwood (2-0) returns to action on Monday (April 5) at Prairieview Ogden.
