Late run by Toledo Cumberland defeats VGH Football

Toledo Cumberland broke open a close football game at home on Friday (April 2) by scoring four touchdowns in the final 8 minutes and 44 seconds to surge past Villa Grove/Heritage, 34-0.
The first Cumberland TD of the final quarter came on a punt return and the next was courtesy of an interception.
With 9 minutes to play, VG/Heritage trailed only 7-0.
Jack Benschneider was the Blue Devils’ workhorse, running for 91 yards in 19 carries.
Luke Zimmerman rushed for 37 yards and Blake Smith gained 15 yards on the ground.
Smith completed 4 of 16 passes for 19 yards. Issac Mahoe had two receptions for 11 yards.
Defensively, Zimmerman had 10 tackles and Benschneider had seven stops. Daelin Price ended with six tackles.
Parker Stevens registered four stops.
Other teammates with four tackles apiece were Carson Howard, Deandre Reinhart and Tyler Wilson.
VG/Heritage (1-2) returns home on Friday (April 9) to face Sangamon Valley.
