Village of St. Joseph Brush/Limb/Yard Waste Pick Up (Updated 7-9-2019) Pick Up will be scheduled for the first full working week unless a scheduled change is noted: Schedule will begin in April going thru November. These Specific Materials are ALLOWED for pick up: Brush: Cut or Broken branches from woody shrubs and trees. Tree Limbs: Large branches of trees, not including trunks or stumps. Yard Waste: Vegetative or organic material produced from the care and maintenance of landscaped areas, gardens and lawns. Such as weeds, leaves, dead flowers, plants and shrub trimmings. Brush or Limbs shall be no larger than Six (6) feet in length and with a diameter no greater than Four (4) inches. Material can be placed in a paper yard bag. Absolutely NO Grass Clippings, dirt, rocks, mulch, stump grindings, fruit or similar material produced from trees. General Regulations: Place brush and/or paper yard bags in distinct piles within three (3) feet of the curb prior to scheduled and announced collection week. Brush piles need to have at least Eighteen (18) inches between piles. Do not place material around your mail box, trees, poles, and fire hydrants. Do not place materials for pick up more than seven (7) days prior to the scheduled and announced collection week. Do not place brush/yard waste on or block public street pavements, public sidewalk pavements, public drainage facilities, or property other than your own. (This will be considered a nuisance violation!) Materials for pick up are to be placed prior to 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled and announced collection week. *Note*Vehicles shall be relocated on the scheduled and announced collection week to provide access for collection of material. The Village reserves the right to deny collection of brush/tree limbs/yard bags due to the lack of access to or within the piles, excessive volume of materials, late placement of materials or restricted material. Absolutely NO ILLEGAL DUMPING at the Village Burn site. Please be advised the burn site has video surveillance. All violations of trespassing shall be given a warning letter from the village. Any violations thereafter may be subject to a trespassing citation including fines. Brush Pick Up is subject to changes as needed.
