Balanced Spartan Volleyball sweeps Pontiac

The Spartans kept their home record unblemished in volleyball on Thursday (April 8), overpowering Pontiac 25-22, 25-11 in an Illini Prairie Conference match.

SJ-O is 7-0 at home this season and all seven wins have been in two-set sweeps.

Kennedi Burnett, Shayne Immke and Payton Vallee were the offensive catalysts with seven kills apiece. Burnett also had eight digs and Vallee had seven digs.

Becca Steinbach set up her hitters with 24 assists.

Burnett also landed three aces.

The triumph over Pontiac not only concluded a week with four wins in four nights, but each of those triumphs were also in two sets.

SJ-O (12-2) returns to action on Monday (April 12) at home against St. Thomas More. The Spartans are 7-1 against Illini Prairie Conference opponents.
