Pence receives state recognition, joins Ingram and Beyers in All-Conference
St. Joseph-Ogden sophomore standout Ty Pence has been named to the 2021 IBCA 2A All State Team.
Pence is only one of three sophomore chosen statewide.
The 6’6″ guard who averaged 25.7 and 10.5 rebounds per game was also named to the first team of the Illini Prairie Conference.
Pence led the Spartans (9-4) in scoring in 12 games, with a game-high of 40 points against Oakwood. He also pulled down 20 rebounds over Rantoul, and led St. Joseph-Ogden in rebounding in 9 games.
Junior Evan Ingram was also named to the Illini Prairie Conference Second Team, averaging 11.1 ppg.
Ingram led the Spartans in three-pointers (26). He also tied for the top spot in free throw percentage (82.4) with junior forward Andrew Beyers, who was named to the third team in the Illini Prairie Conference.
Beyers added 7.6 ppg, and ended the season with 13 three-pointers, behind Pence who collected the team’s second-most 3-point goals (23). Beyers tallied 13 points in his season-high, and led the team in rebounding during two games.
