The Spartans opened the softball season at home on Wednesday (April 14) by doubling the score on Centennial, 14-7.

Senior Kaylee Ward led SJ-O with a double, home run and six runs batted in. Sophomore teammate Alyssa Acton also clubbed a home run.

SJ-O stole 11 bases in the game, including three apiece by Shayne Immke and Peyton Jones.

Reliever Maggie Ward picked up the pitching victory.

The Spartans (1-0) return to action on Saturday (April 17) at Herscher.
